Precious stones
Since the pandemic started the importance of washing your hands with soap to protect oneself from viruses and bacteria has become clearer than ever before. Playing with perception I’ve worked with material commonly found in the bathroom such as soap and tulle fabric (used in shower loafers) to create this jewelry piece.
The soap stones on the necklaces can be removed to provide protection to the wearer or someone else that they want to protect. Use with water and wash for at least 20 seconds!

My name is Jennifer Omberg, and I’m in the second year of the Bachelor program.
I enjoy creating art with different materials and the jewellery art field is very open to mixed media. It’s interesting to work in relation to the human body in many ways, one being that the art can be worn.
I believe my work is super charged since I work with soap visually as crystals, which historically and culturally have different usages and powers.
My work is not meant to disregard anyone else’s beliefs in the power of stones.
